You have been invited to join Holding the Hope for our Washington State Certified Peer Specialist training!

A “Certified Peer Specialist” (CPS) means an individual who has been trained to support those with
mental health, psychological trauma, or substance use by completing the HCA Certified Peer Specialist
Training and passing the approved related tests associated with the new 80-hour curriculum.
This is an 80-hour hybrid training. All four weeks are virtual on zoom.
100% Virtual: Apr 13- Apr 17, Apr 20-Apr 24, Apr 27-May 1, May 4- May 8 – Monday-Friday 1pm – 5pm
Test date & time will be announced after registration.
Required Orientation
You must attend one mandatory orientation session prior to the start of training. These sessions are held online via Zoom.
Important: Please use the same Zoom ID for your orientation session as you will use for the main training.
Orientation Options:

Option 1: Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 2 PM to 3PM

Option 2: Friday, April 10, 2026 at 2 PM to 3PM (Please select your preferred session on the registration form below.)
Health Care Authority (HCA) Attendance Policy:
- Excused: Up to 4 hours total (2 hours per 40 hours of training) missed for the entirety of the training which can be taken all at once if necessary (with the exception of the first and last day of training). These absences must be an emergency or previously arranged with the training organization and the Health Care Authority (HCA).
- Examples of absences may include: court date, doctor’s appointment, job interview, emergency childcare issue, illness, death in family, transportation, or behavioral health crisis.
- Unexcused: 30 minutes per 40 hours
Holding the Hope will mail you a CPS manual, notepad, pen, and highlighter.
If you are in need of an ADA accommodation for training and/or testing, please advise molly@holdingthehope.com at least 2 weeks prior to training. We will work with you to ensure success!
After training has ended, you will complete a Written Exam and an Exit Interview (oral portion). You will need access to a laptop or computer for the exams. Both exams will be online. Cell phones cannot be used. Testing dates and details will be announced shortly.
Please register within the next 7 days to secure your spot. If you are unable to attend, please let us know so you can be invited to another training in the future.
