Spend five days learning to become a WRAP Facilitator.** This course is designed to help you become a powerful change agent as a WRAP Facilitator. You will gain a deeper understanding of the recovery process and learn to:• work with people who have mental health challenges to discover the strengths they have and can use to enhance their recovery;• effectively share the underlying concepts necessary to recovery – hope, personal responsibility, education, self-advocacy, and support;• work with individuals and groups to develop a WRAP;• teach about wellness tools and strategies;• empower and motivate people to work toward recovery – feeling the way they want to feel, making their lives the way they want them to be, and moving toward meeting their life goals; and• use interaction and presentation styles and strategies that enhance recovery.
The cost of this workshop includes all materials and training supplies. Bring a pen!
WRAP Seminar 1: Intro to WRAP is a pre-requisite for WRAP Seminar 2: WRAP for Facilitators – Attendees MUST supply questionnaire answers and appropriate documentation to attend WRAP Seminar 2.
About the location – we have 2 spots in the Seatac, WA area reserved and are waiting for final approval due to COVID related requirements. Once you have been accepted into the workshop you will be advised where to book your hotel reservations. Both sites are very near Seatac international airport.
About the Facilitators:
Sharon Holmes has over 20 years of formal work experience and education. She holds a Master Degree in Education from SIUC, IL, a graduate certificate in Human Resources from Chapman University now Brandman University in Orange, CA, and an Associate of Art and Science Degree from Pierce College, Lakewood, WA. Sharon worked as a WA State Certified Peer Counselor and has managed a team to facilitate change and empower women. She is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Professional (CDPT). During her tenure a Recovery Educator; Sharon provided direct care management and instruction to clients with mental health and substance use challenges and/or co-occurring disorders. Sharon is owner of Ms. SharCo LLC and Inspiring Here & Now LLC which offers workforce educational trainings; and she is also an Independent Contractor, currently working as Training Coordinator for Hoping the Hope; coordinating WRAP and Continuing Educational trainings sponsored by the State of WA. She is, facilitating Co-occurring Disorders training, a Certified Therapeutic Options Trainer, teaching de-escalation skills to Certified Peer Counselors, WRAP as an Advance Level WRAP Facilitator. Sharon is passionate about educating others; she sees the power of education as tool to work for other as it is for her and it’s the focus of her work.
Tina Simpson, ALWF is a 21-year resident of Beaumont Texas and mother of 3 adult children 24,26 and 35. She is currently a Peer Support Specialist Supervisor in Beaumont Out Patient clinic at Spindletop center. She is in long term Recovery from Mental Health and Substance use with 35 yrs. of lived experience. Tina has learned to use what was once a liability, her past to become her greatest asset and that’s her lived experience to help others in recovery. Through the grace of a loving and caring God, she’s has overcome many barriers and has since became a servant in the Peer Community. She has through Via Hope attained her Peer Specialist Certification and is a WRAP and WHAM facilitator where she promotes Wellness and Recovery. She is also a Copeland Center Certified Advanced Level WRAP Facilitator. Tina is also a Certified Recovery Coach Trainer of Trainers as well as Certified Peer Specialists for both Substance Use and Mental Health. As a Trainer of Trainers/ Facilitator she has trained and certified 34 recovery coaches in the Golden Triangle area and has help over 200+ peers develop a Wellness and Recovery Action Plan.
