CONTINUING EDUCATION WORKSHOP
FOR PEER SUPPORT COUNSELORS
The Trauma-Informed Peer Support Workshop explores the elements of safety, transparency, reciprocal and collaborative relationships, cultural considerations and personal exploration to find the meaning each of us attach to our experiences of trauma and loss. It explains how the peer relationship is key to recovery from trauma and challenges in each of us to discover our own Next Steps. The training is interactive, engaging and a critical tool for peer support specialists. It Is based on real peers own lived experience of trauma and recovery.
- ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Mary Jadwisiak is an internationally sought out speaker and trainer for her expertise in behavioral health recovery and suicide prevention. She provides insightful and practical workshops based on 20 years of advocacy work, 14 years of work in the field of suicide prevention, and her personal recovery journey. The power of Hope is infused throughout her work. As the spokesperson for hope she will educate, inform, entertain and inspire.
Lunch will not be provided.
Registered peers will be responsible for their own travel and lodging accommodations.
