King County – WaHCA Peer Continuing Education Series – Documentation

March 6, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Topic:

Certified Peer Counselors must document their work, but that documentation must be done in a way that is consistent with their unique role. This workshop helps peer support workers understand requirements of Medicaid and the Washington Administrative Codes, focusing on the type of documentations most often required by CPCs. Expect a simple but thorough method, with lots of practice.

About the Trainer:

Ann Rider, MSW, CPRP, CPC

Inspired by her own recovery from trauma, addiction, and mental health challenges, Ann Rider made it her life’s work to promote peer support. She wrote, taught and developed the first peer support training for Medicaid-funded peer support. Since that time she has written two other distinct peer support curricula and has taught and developed peer support training in multiple states and three countries. Over 17 years she has been the Executive Director of two peer-run mental health agencies in two states. After earning a Masters in Social Work, Ann taught in the graduate school of social work at Arizona State University. In her “retirement,” she continues to write, teach, consult and advocate. She is currently the Board President of the National Association for Rights Protection and Advocacy.
